What is the process to obtain a breast pump?
The employee’s health care provider must submit a prescription for the pump. The employee must order it through a company approved by their insurance carrier (BlueCross BlueShield or Cigna).
The employee should contact their insurance carrier for a list of approved companies from which they can order the pump. Once a company is chosen, the provider will write the prescription and send it to the approved company representative for processing.
