If you are leaving one University of Tennessee or Tennessee Board of Regents agency to join another, you are considered a true transfer at that institution if there was no break in coverage/employment. You must keep the same benefits you had with your previous agency .
If you are leaving one University of Tennessee or Tennessee Board of Regents agency to join another, and there will be a break in coverage/employment then you are considered a new hire at that institution. You have the ability to change coverages, add or remove dependents, cancel coverage or maintain your current coverage in this scenario. You can make changes by accessing Employee Self Service (ESS) or submitting an enrollment form within 31 days ofyour ligibility date with the new agency.
In either scenario, should the employee change coverage regions, they will be allowed to change coverage to match the region.
