My husband and I are both State employees, and we both enrolled in Flex Medical. Can both Flex plans cover medications for my husband?

Your medications can be covered by both as the contribution limit for the FSA plan is based on the deduction of one member to cover expenses for yourself and your dependents. If you have expenses that overlap, or if you would like to allocate your funds to account for all medical expenses, you are allowed to do so provided that you do not reimburse your expenses more than once. For example, if your spouse has a $500.00 prescription filled on the 12th of this month, you couldn’t take that same expense on the 15th and reimburse for it under your own account. Provided that you do not do this, you may both reimburse against each other’s accounts.
