Medical FSA and limited purpose FSA members are eligible to use a debit card. Simply swipe the card and select either debit or credit. If you choose debit, you may need a PIN to complete the transaction. You may set the PIN when you activate your card or call Optum Bank customer service at (866) 600-4984. After you swipe the card, the system automatically confirms whether you have enough funds to pay for the expense.
Keep all receipts, itemized statements, and explanation of benefits (EOBs) in case, per IRS rules, you are asked by Optum Bank to substantiate a debit card purchase. If you do not respond to such requests, your debit card will be deactivated.
