Those funds remain yours to spend on eligible health care expenses. You may continue to use your HSA debit card to pay for eligible health care expenses for you or your dependents. Be aware that while you were enrolled in the CDHP (state or higher education employees) or the Local CDHP (for local education or local government employees), the State Group Insurance Plan paid the monthly account fee for your HSA. When you are no longer enrolled in the CDHP or Local CDHP, your account becomes a personal “retail account” and you must pay the monthly fee. The HSA administrator may automatically deduct the fee from your HSA.
