An email address is not required, but you MUST keep your phone number and mailing address up to date. If you do not have an email address, you can create a free email account at websites such as www.gmail.com or http://www.yahoo.com. However, if you belong to a local education or local government agency, there is a requirement in the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding between the State of Tennessee and your local agency) that valid email addresses be provided for all active employees within the agency within 15 days of the request from Benefits Administration.
What if I don’t have an email address?
